Gone in Sixty Seconds: *1/2
"Sixty Seconds" is plotless, pointless, brainless, stupefying, and just plain bad.
It is about... well, does it matter? There is no plot. It's just a movie where they put awesome cars and car chases in it and don't care about plot, characters, or even acting for that matter. You wait an hour to see some car chases and then they aren't even exciting. What happened to pomp? What happened to suspense? What happened to quality?
The cast is amazingly incredible. Three Oscar winners and not a drop of talent. Don't get me wrong, the actors have tremendous talent. But the acting in this movie is like watching cardboard on screen for two hours. I expected to see some awesome car chases and didn't. They were so disappointing. And was the subplot with the dog necessary? No. Not even close to necessary.
The only real neat part is, well... actually I'm drawing a blank. I can't think of any! That is how memorable it is. I feel bad for the cars that were destroyed during the filming...
