SO CLOSE TO PARADISE starts off on the wrong foot, with poor acting by some of the leads, but ends strongly by bringing home the message. A film about loneliness and the people who voluntarily throws themselves headlong into it because there's nothing else, PARADISE is an effective an engaging film. To really appreciate the movie, one must endure its terrible beginning, because the finally hour is worth the price of admission.
