Jacklight is the story of a group of high school graduates returning a few years later minus one friend missing from a hunting accident that the remaining survivors were involved with. It's a striking film with some clever, unforgettable lines - thankfully a film that deviates from what you might expect from this genre, with a plot twist concerning who actually killed whom and the complications of strained relationships that result. East Texans will enjoy the familiar sights and landscapes and everyone will enjoy the individual character developments and relationships between a group of people that will no doubt remind you of some of your own friends. It's a darker type of Alan Alda's 'Four Seasons', aimed at the 70's generation audience. The score, by Scott Szabo, is catchy and hard to stop listening to. Keep your eye on Director Steve Hengtes (who has a short appearance as the unlucky Alex who doesn't make it to the troubling reunion) - his films continue to impress veteran critics.
