The Wolf Man (1999)
Unclear but great animation
12 December 2003
In the middle of woods inhabited by wolves, an astrologist imagines what it would be like to be a werewolf, running and howling through the woods in a schizophrenic blur instead of sitting in his home watching videos. Then the moon calls to calls to him.

Not quite sure to expect from this film, it started well with some great animation as a young girl is hunted by a wolf. It looks great, having all 2-D shapes but moving thought them in what feels 3-D. When it moves to the scientist it doesn't go as well but is still strong enough to hold the interest. Once the moon calls to the man it changes pace altogether and is like a frantic rave of visuals and audio, not that this is all a good thing you understand but it is certainly watchable!

The voice work is good and the dialogue is poetic enough to really hold the ear while the slick and clever animation holds the eye. While it may not make as much sense at the end as one would have hoped it is certainly worth a look. An imaginative short that has class in the animation and script.
