Literate and heartfelt
31 July 2001
THE IMMIGRANT GARDEN is a gem of independent filmmaking, gentle and literate and a joy to watch. The script is based on a play by the same name, and it's a standout. Very well-written. Tenderly drawn characters, an unselfconscious sense of humor and surprisingly good performances by unknown actors make this a real find -- hope it will find a wider audience!
