Judging by the comments so-far posted, it seems as Kevin Smiths fanbase falls into two broad churches. Those who think that "Jay and Silent Bob" was brilliant and those who think it's Smiths worst movie ever.

The stoners who seem to make up his audiences in "An evening with Kevin Smith" will probably see this as a sell-out. Howeverit's a good film, not brilliant but certainly a good film. Okay so it's a bit "Hollywood" in that Father learns to love his daughter (whom he blames for causing the death of his wife, and learns to be a good father, bringing up his daughter single handedly (well with help from his father and his fathers drinking buddies), and Ben's dash back to the school is a bit reminiscent of "About a Boy"

But thankfully KS steers well clear of many of hollywoods cliches, it doesn't end with everything wonderful, it just ends

Highly recommended
