Review of Envy

Envy (2004)
1/10
Rachel Weisz is the only saving grace in this big pile of poo.

Horrible and extremely unfunny film manages to not only make two of the most gifted comedians around look like idiots but manages to make the people who paid to see it look even worse. Jack Black and Ben Stiller are very good comedic actors who can make almost any film funny but they are horrible wasted in thankless roles that don't use their talents the way they should be used. Ben Stiller has a hit or missed reputation with his performances but his is so off target here, that he hits the ground with supersonic speed. Jack Black is so under used here that he has more of a supporting role than a co-star, which is a crime because he could have added more if he was giving more to do. Christopher Walken is great but he goes a little overboard with his weird performance, and Rachel Weisz does better than all of them with a funny performance that not only hits the mark but also makes you think that the script was much better than what was showed on screen. Unfortunately for her and Walken, they are not in the movie that much, and it would have benefited greatly if they not only had more screen time but also had a script to go with their funny performances. They seemed like they were in a different movie than Ben Stiller and Jack Black were in, and I would have paid to see that instead the pile of poo that is here.
