Hold Up (2004)
9/10
Promising short from Tanya Boyd
10 February 2005
A fraternity pledge (Victor Isaacs) must commit a hold up as his last task. But he learns that he's not the only one.

This is a very well made short from Tanya Boyd in her first turn as a director (she has a number of prior acting credits). She displays a knack for both the crime-drama genre and comedy. There is a nice "gritty" feel to the film, and Boyd, in conjunction with her small cast, are able to easily convey a lot of emotion and information in a very short time to depict an amusingly complex scenario.

Let's hope we see more from her as a director in the near future, including a feature-length film.
