There was excellent chemistry between Jack Black and Ben Stiller in this highly watchable comedy! The film conveyed a warm message in the unconditional loyalty of the Jack Black's kind-hearted character to a neighbor and co-worker envious of his success. The most effective moments were those that departed from the over-the-top comedy to reveal the truth about the envy of Ben Stiller's character for his friend. A criticism of this film was in the underdeveloped roles of the two wives. Also, Christopher Walken deserves mention for playing his J-Man character with great gusto. But this film really belongs to the two neighbors and their discovery of the core values of their friendship.
