A Swiss Trick (1931)
4/10
Plot less, witless...
27 August 2005
Warning: Spoilers
Following on from the "black" skeletons of their debut, and the ethnic angst of Jungle Jam, the fifth film in the Tom and Jerry series sees yet more imperialistic jibes as the duo encounter as many racial stereotypes as it's possible to depict about Switzerland.

Not endearing enough to be charming, nor arch enough to be edgy, this sub-Disney effort fails in attempts to amuse with some plot less surrealism, even the rather patronising "eating Swiss cheese makes you get holes in your body" pay off rather insipid.

One of the worst of the series, its own self-amusement and over reliance on musical filler grating.
