Good ship, great crew........bad captain(not Picard)

Warning: Spoilers
Star Trek: Nemesis was a great movie in some ways: good action, great S/F/X, marvelous acting(as always). But this movie, supposedly the last featuring the Next Generation cast, really was a let-downer in that....and it wasn't the fault of the cast of actors...it was the director and producers.

First and foremost, getting a director that doesn't even like Star Trek was not a good idea. This Stuard Biard may be a good director in other genres, but when it comes to Star Trek, you really have to have the knack for it. I mean, the better director, if not being Jonny Frakes on Pat Stewart, should have been Nick Meyer(of Star Trek's II and VI fame....plus other movies). The guy knows how to direct and be creative with a movie of Trek's caliber. The before-mentioned movies were blockbusters and had major critical acclaim. It was stupid to go for a director that doesn't do these kind of movies(and being famous in other genres OBVIOUSLY doesn't produce a great movie).

That was the first problem, the second was with the producers. Rick Berman did a decent job in keeping the flame of the final frontier, but I do believe that he may be tiring and the demise of ENTERPRISE was a perfect example. Going with just the character development of the movie and not the substance doesn't work with a multi-layered saga like Star Trek. Also if Brannon Braga(the "real" reason why ENTERPRISE died such a bad death...in my opinion) had some dealing with it,it probably did. This guy just doesn't get it either.

Well, there is rumor of there being an eleventh movie dealing with another prequel of the original series. I hope the producers and powers behind Star Trek learn from the this very big blunder and NOT do the same mistake a THIRD time.
