A truly entertaining comedy from the Turkish cinema scene. You get what you wish for: fun!

An warm, happy and funny movie with a classic plot where things go wrong all the time. But it does avoid the platitude and completes it's mission successfully: to entertain! Also has a different point of view of the genre with a Turkish edge to it!

The story starts of with a Turkish family winning a trip to Barboonia (completely fictional island country) as a consolation from a TV show. You will mostly laugh out loud as they indulge in adventures a size too big for them, but they keep their cool all the way through.

The leading actor, Ferhan Sensoy,is a very famous one in Turkey especially in theater, and this is one of his few movies. He is very good in both of the characters (the father of the family and president Carlos of Barboonia) but most of the supporting actors are just as good.

The colors and the atmosphere of the film are also cheerful and pleasant that contribute to the positive feeling. It was mostly filmed in Cuba, so it does have a Latin touch to it.

In short, you will not be satisfied if you are looking for the meaning of life, or a manifesto of some kind. But if you are looking for fun, this is the movie!
