Piel de otoño (2004–2005)
a great story about life

Warning: Spoilers
I started to watch this show because I lived in Salamanca (Spain) in the time when this series was filmed there and I was curious how they presented the city. And I discovered a beautiful love story and a great life lesson.

Lucia lived her infancy in an orphanage, without the love of a family and once married she tried that her family stayed together at all costs, to create that ideal family that she never had as a child. She supported her husband, Ramon, in his work and after years of struggle they became rich. But instead of loving and supporting her, Ramon treats her like dirt and her children, Miguel Angel and Liliana don't give a dam about her. But Lucia continues to do all she can for her family, blaming herself for not doing enough for them. She starts to talk with a complete stranger on the internet who calls himself Viento (Wind) and she is Otono (Autumn) and they become closer and closer every day because Viento understands her and gives her advices... Lucia starts to have feelings for Viento but she is married and loves her husband. Until one day she discovers two things that knock her down in a second: that her husband has an affair with Rebeca, his assistant and that Liliana had a daughter in Spain, Natalia, whom she abandoned in a monastery. This happens in the same period when her great friend Triana dies and leaves her some money. She decides to travel to Spain to find Natalia and to receive the money that Triana left her.

In Spain she finds out that Triana actually left her a lot of money and she associates with a cosmetics company owned by two friends of Triana: Mayte and Jordi. She also meets Santiago Mestre, a famous painter who is actually Viento, although none of them knows this. He helps her to find Natalia and to regain the confidence in herself and they fall in love and discover that they actually know themselves from the internet. But Lucia has to go back to Mexico to confront her husband and to bring Natalia back to her mother's arms... But in the end all ends well and they live happily ever after.

I think this series deserved a lot more publicity because it talks about a woman who is psychologically abused every day and for a long time she does nothing but to blame herself for not being a good wife and a good mother and all this is presented in a very realistic way. There are lot of "Lucia" in this world who live passive all their lives and I think a series like this can change a little bit the mentality of the people.
