Review of Aftermath

Aftermath (2004)
9/10
The elephant in the room
17 April 2006
Warning: Spoilers
A horror movie if there ever was one -

A gut-wrenching description of how people get to the point where they can actually articulate and cry over a great loss, in this case a couples loss of a teenage daughter to a drunk driver.

Interesstingly we also get the point of view of the drunk driver (a recently divorced middle-aged female real estate salesclerk) and the reactions of the couples nearest friends and the work-environment around them.

In addition we get a glimpse of the problems of a social service system, where the social workers HAS to feel for the clients if they are to have any success stories in this tough line of work, because they mostly only see the underbelly of society.

Highly recommended.
