Belgian humour at its best
12 April 2006
It's a little gritty, and the French is sometimes hard to follow. But I still enjoyed this weird film. The train scene, where the actor beat the train at the crossing, and the spectators chasing him getting caught behind the gates is hilarious. Thoroughly impatient, the bolder of the spectators nearly get hit by the slow moving train, but what happens later is even more sinister. (Don't want to spoil the fun!).

When the star arrives back in Roubaix a hero, all the difficulties and insults that had occurred earlier are forgotten. This film shows, in a humorous way, the ill regard the French and Belgians often have for one another. The French actors think they are the best, but the clever and far more successful Belgians school them on every aspect of technique and timing.

Watch for the Flemish flags out on the roads during the chase!
