Review of Medea

Medea (2005)
10/10
I highly recommend people to see this short!

I got a chance to see this short and meet the director in person at a film festival in DC. I have to say that I really did enjoy this modern retelling short from Greek mythology of Medea. It was a lot of fun to see the climactic scene and how the film's director portrayed it. I found the acting to be quite good and the location to be exquisite. The director was very humble with his audience and was very vocal about how much the story meant to him to film and why he chose to shoot it as a short. One thing I do however wish is that the film was longer than fifteen minutes. I like the flow for it being a short but with all of the material from the play there could have been a lot of different possibilities with this retelling. I think this version stands out from other versions due to the intellectual style of the film. I enjoyed it a lot and look forward to seeing other films from this director.
