Ann Heche is a nut job, but which great actors aren't?
If you loved Northern Exposure (I did) you will enjoy this return to Alaska and the quirky characters. The theme of "get me out of here" is reprized in the pilot, but reconciliation with the north country occurs at the end of the pilot. It appears that the focus of the show will be centered on the bar where all the characters gather and the bartenders wisdom is evident (hence the reference to "Cheers" in the summary. None of the characters introduced is irritating and there seems to be ample opportunity for character development without reference to flashbacks (like "Lost"). I suspect this series will wear well. A number of the characters are cute (starting with Heche) and it never hurts for people to be easy on the eyes.
