Review of Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo

I must say that this will forever be one of my few fav anime of all time. I've always liked the Count of Monte Cristo story, but after seeing the Hollywood movie, I got so disappointed, so when this came out, it's like a dream come true to me :D The way that they changed the story of Edmond's escape was surprising and it goes well with the setting, which is futuristic Paris. All the characters were played very well, even though Albert were abit of a wuss but it goes with the story, except I was sooo sad for what happened to Franz. Everything was made sooo well into 24 episodes (or is it 26?), but I'd still feel happy if the 2nd season was made :D. The art is excellent, especially with Nina Ricci doing the fashion design for the last part, the animation, colouring, CG is simply breath-taking, so if u like some good plot and good animation, then watch this one, u wont regret it ^^
