The Music behind Bikini Car Wash Company
10 December 2006
Sure, this movie falls into the B rated T+A movies category of the early 90's, spun off from the movies that kept teens glued to the VCR on a Friday night when the smoke supply was thin and there were no good bands in town, but that's what made this one fun.

As the drummer of the soundtracks band; Todd Lane will tell you, the years of playing the sunny southern California music circuit were unforgettable, but being in a band at that time, loaded with talent and looking to make any noise over the onset of grunge music and the fall of good time rock and roll, a soundtrack to a movie was the one thing a band could only dream of.

New Haven, the band behind the music, was more than up and coming at the time, they had arrived, and the tunes on this soundtrack prove just that. Not only did they appear on screen jamming away, the boys lit up radios that summer with the hits that made them more than popular.

Founder and former CEO of Retrospect Records; Joe Dolan (thats me), was set to release the original demos that made this band the good time summer rockers they were, and hope is still there for this music to surface again. In 2007, hopes arise as Joe starts his engine again in the music industry with the formula for another record label. the start of this project is set to include about 8 songs from New haven and a liner from the band about what made those days so great.

Incidentally, if you feel so inclined, you can search the IMDb and find a Billy Blanks movie that features some of the great tracks from Bikini Car Wash as they surfaced again in that soundtrack ... but that is a story for another day.

Search the web for drummer Todd Lane and you too will learn the story of the band that rocked my world - straight forward good time rock, the way it was meant to be .... "Rockin' in my rockin' chair".

See you Hollywod kids! Joe Dolan
