The Idiot Box is the best of Spongebob
10 February 2007
Warning: Spoilers
Though the Nasty Patty is a great episode the best Spongebob episode is by far the Idiot Box. In this incredibly intelligent and thoughtful episode we see writing that can only be compared to that of the greats like Shakespeare, Virgil, Dante, Dostoyevsky and Homer. In this episode we see the finest acting and directing too. Bill Faberbakke is comparable to Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lecture or De Niro in Cab driver. This edgy performance and dramatic voicing draws you in like a fish is drawn to water. When he is under the attack of the Avalanche you feel as you are there and if you close your eyes you can feel your legs go numb. And Tom Kenny makes you feel the pain of his lost limbs. Of course the strong performance of Spongebob's foil Squidward Tentacles by Roger Bumpass is only describable as phenomenal. Truly this is the closest we have come to a legendary classic and gripping thriller since, dare I say Citizen Kane. I do not want to reveal anymore as to destroy the marvelous experience you are bound to have when you see this unparalleled masterpiece. Bravo, Bravo, Bravissimo!
