"All quiet on the fish front!"

Warning: Spoilers
Directed by Jules White, "Cookoo Cavaliers" is a wonderfully funny Three Stooges short starring Curly, Larry, and Moe. The boys are San Diego fish peddlers who have not been successful at selling ONE fish in thirty days! (I cannot even imagine the foul stench emerging from the back of their truck.) They wisely decide to leave the fish business and travel to Mexico to purchase a saloon; instead, they end up stuck with a beauty parlor, just because their Mexican real estate agent (Lynton Brent) cannot distinguish the words "saloon" and "salon."

Highlights: When a lady from a second-story window asks the Stooges what kind of fish they have, Moe gives a rhythmic description while Larry and Curly dance around. Moe sniffs a powder called "Fleur de Skunke" while Curly turns on a blow dryer, covering Moe with powder; Larry then laughs at Moe and accidentally squirts himself in the face. The Stooges display some rather strange techniques in applying hair bleach, mud packs, and manicures as they work on their first customer Rosita (Dorothy Appleby); they nearly lose their lives when they turn three other beautiful women bald!

"Cookoo Cavaliers" is great fun for all Stooge fans. When the boys acquire their beauty salon and falsely claim to know enough about the business to produce satisfactory results, you can be absolutely sure that trouble awaits them!
