the poor mans' Hostel
14 August 2007
Five underdeveloped young Canadians traveling to the Far East go to a sleazy sex hotel where murders are taking place. Owing more than a tad to Eli Roth's "Hostel", it plays out very similarly to that film, albeit an extremely low-budget simplistic version. Well-directed, but the acting is merely serviceable (if that). Anyone looking for any real plot, look elsewhere. This one is merely about the gore and tits. Nothing more, nothing less. The film does get boring in parts as well. By the way, if my review seems kind of sparse and lacking substance, it's just a reflection of the subject matter (or rather lack there of) that I have to work with.

My Grade: D+
