I loved Scott Reynolds'movie when strangers appear and just came across the ugly.I found it interesting from the start and liked the built up of suspense through flashbacks.I did find parts of it including the ending a bit confusing. It was different how the blood of the victims was black.I wasn't sure why this was.Simon(played by Paolo Rotondo)was a complex character who (if it was all real) had a very abusive upbringing at the hands of his demented mother.I didn't really get why she resented her son and there was nothing mentioned of his father other then he was rich, and his mother saying he was evil and to stay away from him .This coming from her mouth as she abused her own son.I also never understood her hatred for Julie,a girl who came to Simon's rescue after being bullied and beat up by cruel classmates. It may have been that the girl had an interest in her son and she was threatened by it,so then the bitch proceeded to smack the girl around and break her glasses just for reading Simon part of a letter from his dad.It would have been nice to understand why she acted the way she did. Also his father was never shown or really clearly explained. The 3 actors that played Simon all looked very similar which was believable and good casting. It was nice that he and Julie re-connected later in life but I wanted him to get vicious revenge on his cruel classmates.Although I was happy when he finally brutally took care of those 2 thugs at the mental institution, they really had it coming.I liked the Dr Karen Schumaker character played by Rebecca Hobbs. She really nailed the role as Paolo also gave a very exciting and disturbing portrayal of his life and could draw her and others into his his dark mind even when they are not aware of it. The ending confused me because I didn't understand the reaction to his doctor after Simon broke out to go after Karen.Somehow Simon knew where she lived which made no sense. And at the institution there was something strange going on with his doctor and another weird female patient. It is an effective suspense film with some jump out of your seat thrills.
