Warning: Spoilers
Wow. 'Home' I have not seen for probably the better part of 2 decades! The same can be said for a similar mini-series made around the same time with some of the same actors called 'Come Midnight Monday'. It would be great if these were re-discovered and put out on DVD. I remember in 'Home' (don't read any further if you don't want the ending spoiled!!) about four or five kids ranging in age from about 11 to 15 or 16, running away and living out at the Newport Railway Workshops, hiding in some of the old train carriages. I think they gained entry by sneaking through the Champion St Railway Museum adjacent to the workshops, and going from there. I distinctly remember one scene where a couple of them are strolling through the museum and some kid asks them if they know where a certain locomotive is. They bolt and hide under one of the steam engines on display. The end of the series is brought about when the youngest boy in the group falls out of a carriage window and is badly injured, in fact I think he was unconscious. The others are in a dilemma - calling the authorities for help will give away their position, if they don't get help, he could die. In the end though, they know they have to do the right thing...
