The Revenge of Shinobi is one of my favourite 16-bit games that I remember playing as a kid and I still enjoy playing it now, the graphics are fantastic and impressive, the music is great and catchy, the game-play is fun and easy to pick up. The game has you going through various levels where you must fight enemies, dodge obstacles and reach the stage exit, each level has three stages. The third stage is the boss fight that are really cool and challenging. Throughout the levels you will find boxes, breaking them will give you an item that are usually more Shuriken stars (In the European version their throwing knives), health, a power up which upgrades your weapon but if you take damage you lose it, extra lives and extra magic attacks, some of the boxes contain bombs and if you touch them they explode so it's best to avoid them, they also explode after a few seconds so you can wait or jump over them, The Revenge of Shinobi is a classic game that should be played.
