The Contract (2006)

insanely stupid criminals gets what they deserve

Warning: Spoilers
I had my hopes up for this movie. Cusack and Freeman trying to get the upper hand over one another out in the woods while they are being hunted by other criminals plus the police. Could have been a great movie.

It was just so unbelievable. A father who risks his sons life to bring in a criminal - why? Freeman as a very experienced soldier and assassin didn't use a single skill to overpower Cusack except once in the cave. He of course tries to persuade Cusack to let him go but didn't he have some other tricks up his sleeve? Can we even start to comprehend this? *spoiler* when Cusacks son slips on a slippery rock and Freeman holds his life in his hands is a moment that he didn't take advantage of. Can you believe that? "Throw me your gun and I will safe your son's life". But instead of hostility sympathy grows between the two. Stockholm syndrome? The four criminals who are hunting Cusack and Freeman are simply an insult to your intellect. It is so immensely boring to watch, over and over again in Hollywood productions, the hero pull it through against a superior force only because they cant think, shoot straight, finish their job etc.
