Nicely done, hadn't seen it before.

Warning: Spoilers
I was really impressed by this one, when it finally came out on DVD two years ago. You gotta like the cast-the Duke, Lloyd Nolan, Walter Abel, etc-plus Fess Parker, Mannix, Paul Fix, the usual Batjac suspects, in other words. Gives it some grounding and a nice familiar ring on the whole.

Nothing wrong w/ the setting(downed plane in wintry Labrodor) either, it's suspenseful and they do their best to make it realistic, as much as could be done 50 odd years back. Director Wellman was a lifelong pilot and this just happened to be right up his alleyway.

Plus, I think one other thing makes this a winner for me-it keeps mentioning my hometown of Presque Isle(!) which was a military airbase from the forties to the early sixties. That alone makes me and my family chuckle.

Do check it out-they filmed much of it in the Tahoe area, they packed it w/ familiar faces and make you care what happens to the characters. This need not be a neglected gem anylonger.
