South Park: Super Fun Time (2008)
Season 12, Episode 7
7/10
Almost like an unfinished thought.
24 April 2008
This is a funny episode, and it was up to par with other episodes of the season, but it was just a strange set up. The main plot seems like it would be about Cartman and Butters sneaking away from their classmates, but it's actually just a small sub-plot. The actual plot just seemed really random...let's have the kids...get captured in an 1860s reenactment center. It's like Trey and Matt just took random ideas and mushed them together.

Mr. Garrison takes his class to an 1860s reenactment center. All the kids need to have a partner, and Cartman ends up stuck with Butters. After seeing an indoor theme park next door, Cartman and Butters sneak off. Meanwhile terrorists take over the 1860s area and take the kids hostage. To appeal to the old fans, Trey and Matt used a few old techniques of the show. Stan and Wendy are back together, and Kenny has a slightly larger role than in most episodes (which doesn't say much). The very small Kenny sub-plot seemed really pointless, as it seemed to affect the plot in no way and was just thrown in to make old school fans disappointed Kenny wasn't offed again. The Cartman-Butters plot was especially weird because it had literally no humor to it, and they could've easily just left because they were bored and went no where, and it would've been just as funny. However, even though this episode goes every which way, it's still funny, and good enough to be the Spring season finale.

My rating: *** out of ****. 30 mins. TVMA
