Season one ends on a bit of a disappointment, although its clear they spent some money on this episode, which includes underwater photography, a lot of outdoor shooting and 4 bathing beauties.
Max gets a mysterious phone call from a member of the Russian swim team. After a funny sequence in which he can't find a pencil, he tries to memorize her name, only to discover ALL the girls on the Russian swim team have similar names. The girl has a list of enemy agents she is determined to get Smart, but Max accidentally eats the list--twice! While not as funny as some of the very best episodes (maybe I'm just not a big fan of Alice Ghostly, who plays the chaperon and coach of the swim team, I don't know) it still manages to be amusing and the use of a spear gun adds some nice jeopardy to the action.
The script includes both a "would you believe?" and "And Loving It!".
