The World's Heaviest Man
3 February 2009
Warning: Spoilers
There are many documentaries about overweight people in the world, more in America and the UK of course, and this was almost nothing unusual. Basically Manuel Uribe, 42, living in Monterrey, Mexico is in the record books as the heaviest man in the world, at 1,225lb (pounds) - 87 stone, bed-bound and unable to look after himself. Following a year of his life, over-eating and unhealthy living, surgeons, doctors and dietitians from around the world flooded in to help. Manuel decides to follow Zone Diet, an anti-inflammatory, high-protein programme to lose some weight, and it is remarkable how much he loses. That's about it. Good!
