www.bit.ly/4FVa8Z. Where the Wild Things Are gives personified form to a child's inner conflicts. Film gives visual form to internal struggles and help us to process them. This PG movie is more about childhood struggle than an entertaining movie for young children. It follows the adventures of Max, who is struggling with his parents' divorce. After he clashes with his mother and runs off, Max is transported by his imagination to a vast forest and sea.The voice acting, puppetry, and computer animation is masterful that transports the audience to Max's imagination. The audience is empathetically faced with the strange creatures that represent Max's own conflicting emotions. After Max is crowned King of the Wild Things and learns that ruling his kingdom of personified emotions is not easy, he returns to the love of his mother. The audience experiences his conflicts and the healing of a parent's connection. By Dr. Diane Howard, www.dianehoward.com
