Review of Cargo

Cargo (2009)
6/10
Space is mostly a big void. Cargo, too.

Warning: Spoilers
The acting was surprisingly good, especially that of Samuel Decker (Martin Rapold). The graphic effects weren't bad. Cargo has a unconventional story with some interesting ideas. I didn't expect to see a snow covered section inside a space ship. The CGI Space Town was greatly praised, but I found nothing special about her.

The plot had some weak moments. The romance between Laura and Decker came totally out of nowhere and there seemed to be no reason for it. Not even based on the story. I can't say if it fitted their characters, because you don't learn much about them or their motives.

Apart from the CGIs and some good acting, the story line is mostly flat as a piece of paper. I give Cargo 6 stars, because it was a good try with some potential from Switzerland.
