When the previous episode ended with Luke entering the vampires' lair wearing a suicide bomber's vest I was sure somebody would stop him; I was wrong. A couple of minutes in to the episode he detonates his bomb killing himself as well as several vampires and their human companions. Sookie survived because Eric shielded her from the blast, he however was wounded and asked her to suck the silver shrapnel out before it is too late. When Bill returns she learns that Eric had tricked her; he was in no danger and because she swallowed his blood he will affect her. Back in Bon Temps Sam is still in jail but escapes shortly before Maryann can get to him. Things are looking good for new vampire Jessica even though boy friend Hoyt's mother will never approve of her.
This episode opened with a nice surprise, I was positive Luke would be stopped so jumped somewhat when an explosion ripped through the house. Sam's method of escape was rather fun; I didn't know he could shape-shift into something as small as a fly! It will be interesting to see how things go between Sookie and Eric from now on; I'm sure it will be more than the one erotic dream she had this week. The ending, which I won't spoil, also came as quite a surprise.
