award winning series
22 December 2010
This 6 part series adapted by Tim O'Mara and Al Hunter Ashton was an award winning children's drama for BBC 1 in the UK that changed the face of children's drama and set the bar at a new height for all future film makers. The tension and fear it created without any violence on show or a gun in shot was unheralded in TV drama. It was ground breaking drama in its time and to be honest the BBC has never been able to create anything like it since. The drama deals joins a family about to be taken in protective custody. What makes this drama very different is that the drama starts at its most intense as the police arrive to take the two sisters into hiding in the middle of the night. The eldest sister then part narrates the story which gives it another edge and a very personal perspective that reaches out and touches every viewer. This series won a BAFTA nomination and best drama from the RTS.
