suffering of the colonists
9 February 2011
Even though 'The other conquest' is hard to understand that one's country is colonized by powerful nation and the colonists must believe powerful nation's God on force, I hardly understand what it is because my country, Korea, had been colonized by Japan. I did not live that age, but because I learned what Japanese did to Koreans at school, I could hardly imagine suffering of ancestors. While I watch that Spanish conquests force Aztec Indians to believe the Virgin Merry, I felt my ancestors' suffering once again. Also, at the same time, I doubted whether forcing people to believe the other's God is good or bad for them. I realized that although something is good for me, it could drive others to death.
