Review of Edge of Darkness

Though it cannot excuse his personal life...actors are flawed as everyone is. He displays a unique strength in this character that probably is the most proper exercise of his own personal rage. When I saw the commercials/previews for this I thought that I would definitely want to see it...whenever I got around to it. My brother bought the DVD second hand and screened it for us just happen so one night. To his surprise, I was in love with this movie. It's a gem...one of those films that doesn't define a career but rather goes overlooked and unappreciated. Mel Gibson was a star; and when he passes he will be cheered in the Oscar "In Memoriam" reel. This movie is true to his dogged dramatic momentum...an overrated charismatic performer that might actually turn in his better and best work in his elder years.
