8/10
Pretty close to it's title

A friend of mine has been trying to convince me for about a year now Green Day is the best thing to come to music, ever. While I strongly disagree with her, I did get some enjoyment out of Green Day's latest CD/DVD combo Awesome as F**k. It provides very amusing concert footage as well as some great songs performed in it's ninety minute runtime.

The footage is taken from when Green Day performed at Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan in 2010. It gives you the hint that Green Day is loved more by just people in America, but people worldwide appreciate what the band has to offer. The audio of the concert is good, but the footage is a little blurry which has me questioning a Blu-Ray buy.

I enjoyed the performances of 21st Century Breakdown and Boulevard of Broken Dreams the most out of every song played. Concert films are hard to review because of the fact there is a slim amount of things to take into consideration. Music, visuals, and content. Green Day passes in all three categories.

Awesome as F**k's purpose is to hold the fans over till their next studio album releases, possibly in 2011. For what it's worth the live performances are very good and the enjoyment level is there. I figure this would be a four star review if I just had more interest in the band. Still, it does it's job. It rocks.

Music performed by: Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tre Cool.
