Happened in the wild north...
26 May 2011
Karin Turkka comes to town of Utopila looking for the murderer of her gold-digger father. She believes the murderer is Tundra-Tauno.But is he? Villi Pohjola (1955) is a film directed and written by Aarne Tarkas. It's set in northern Finland, in a place you can't find on the map.The place looks a lot like wild west.Singer/actor, also athlete Tapio Rautavaara plays Tundra-Tauno.Elina Pohjanpää is Karin Turkka.Matti Oravisto portrays Nimismies.Aino-Maija Tikkanen is Maija.Uljas Kandolin is Konstaapeli Hurja.Leo Jokela plays the part of Korttihuijari.Jalmari Parikka is Musta-Pekka.Matti Tamminen is Pormestari Markus.Lasse Pöysti plays Kapakkapianisti.Pentti Viljanen is Undertaker.Matti Kuusla plays Villain.Irja Seikkula and Ritva Valkama portray prostitutes.Eila Pehkonen is Saloon girl.Toivo Mäkelä is Photographer.Leo Lastumäki plays Man in Utopila.Mauno Hyvönen is Pilot.Spede Pasanen is Mayor's henchman.Pentti Irjala is seen as Drunk.Sakari Jurkka works as Narrator. The movie has its flaws. For a comedy, a western parody this isn't funny enough. But it does work as a good adventure.
