More Andy Sidaris fun
23 June 2011
Warning: Spoilers
Cunning criminal mastermind Kane (smoothly played by Geoffrey Moore) gets his wicked hands on a nuclear trigger that puts the whole world in jeopardy. It's up to an elite team of government agents to retrieve said trigger and take Kane down in the process. Writer/director Andy Sidaris hits the bull's eye once again with this merry celluloid ode to the blithely adolescent joys of raging testosterone: The oodles of yummy gratuitous female nudity, big splashy explosions, ineptly staged action set pieces, a goodly amount of bloody violence, several scorching soft-core sex scenes, and an amusing sense of campy humor all add up to one highly entertaining affair. The usual bevy of beautiful babes keeps things humming throughout, with especially stand-out contributions from busty blonde Dona Speir as the feisty Donna Hamilton, ravishing brunette Roberta Vasquez as Donna's equally tough partner Nicole Justin, the incredibly gorgeous Cynthia Brimhall as sassy and enticing singer Edy Stark (Cynthia belts out an infectiously jaunty Jimmy Buffett-style trop-rock tune this time), lovely Ava Cadell as sultry-voiced disc jockey Ava, and slinky minx Carolyn Liu as Kane's duplicitous assistant Silk. The rest of the cast likewise have fun with the cheerfully silly material: Bruce Penhall as the hunky Bruce Christian, Tony Beck as the dashing Luca, Rodrigo Obregon as suavely evil smuggler Pico, Michael J. Shane as amiable klutz Shane Abilene, and, best of all, ubiquitous action movie Fu Manchu dude Al Leong as lethal assassin Raven. Mark Morris' sharp cinematography gives the picture a pleasing bright look. Richard Lyons' cool rocking syncopated score does the stirring trick. An enjoyable romp.
