Review of Final Judgement

Intense actor, Brad Dourif (voice of the infamous killer doll, Chucky) stars in this obscure but good thriller as a priest on the run. An obsessive, self-indulgent, artist type (very overacted by David Ledingham) is strangling girls after he paints dirty portraits of them, and Dourif is a tough kid turned preacher who is investigating the deaths of strippers including his estranged daughter. Cop, Isacc Hayes thinks Dourif did it, and time is running out for the pistol-packing padre as he must clear his good name. This is directed with plenty of grim and gusto, and its amusing to watch Dourif as a priest beat up gang members, hang out with strippers, lift weights, and shakedown undesirables all the while wearing the white collar. Its a taut thriller packed with sexy bodies, soft-core sex, a decent supporting cast, and a great climatic battle between Dourif and the killer. Karen Black is good in a bit part as the killer's wacky mom.
