Offbeat episode that's never predictable. The story follows whiny little Boise (Martin) whose courage quotient gets a big boost from being told by doctor (Greer) he's about to die. Paladin gets roped into following his shenanigans, much to his dismay. It's a showcase for Martin, who's perfectly cast in the eccentric role. The narrative itself is more like a series of incidents that starts off with woman-hungry miners wanting to cross-dress Boise for their party. Now I may be wrong, but I doubt a suggestive idea like that would have passed censorship muster a few years earlier. Anyway, watch for familiar faces like Greer, Jones, and Alcaide picking up a payday, including a luscious LaRue Farlow (what a name!) who lends genuine eye candy to the Fairmont lobby.
