My Divine Internal Feelings for the film Rasayatra
25 February 2012
Warning: Spoilers
I am Masters of Animation Film Design student in Jaipur and I watched Rasa Yatra at the Jaipur International Film Festival in January.

In this cinematic documentary the director Param Tomanec shows his understanding of Indian spiritual culture and beyond. I really felt an attachment to the spirituality and the beauty of nature. The camera work is excellent with original combination of time-lapse photography and real-life dialogs enriching the story.

As Tomanec's directorial debut, I and many other people at the festival were pleasantly surprised at the director's attention to detail and unique rhythm of this non-linear film. Even though it is inspired by films like Koyannisqatsi and Baraka it still has an original flavour to it. It can be considered as a wonderful addition to the family of non- verbal filmmaking.

Rasa Yatra is presented as a visual meditation and I warmly recommend it to anyone with interest in art cinema, film students and spiritually inclined movie-goers.

The only criticism was that it was too short, but for a debut 50 minutes is fine. I look forward to see more film's like this in the future challenging conventional commercial film.
