Simply Amazing, and nothing less
15 March 2012
Warning: Spoilers
I purchased this game on my iPhone when it dropped down on sale to 99 cents. Never being a fan of bird's eye view games, I didn't know what to expect, but being that the new game doesn't come out till the end of the year in 2012, I needed my dose of Lara Croft till then, and boy, am I glad I made this purchase. The game is simply amazing, better than Underworld by far, and that is a lot coming from a simple iPhone game. The game starts off with Lara reading about the Mirror of Smoke, and from there, she takes a hike through the mountains and eventually finds it. Who would have guessed that an ancient evil was imprisoned in the mirror? The game starts right off with action and adventure that the games have lacked for awhile. I have nothing wrong with Tomb Raider Legend, in fact it's one of my favorites, but that game lacked adventure the most, and also Underworld. Many traps from previous games return, such as boulder traps, fall away plat forms, spike walls, and much more. If you are having withdrawal from Lara Croft, this would be a perfect game to keep you busy while you await the reboot game in December. Also, I am sure this game would be much better graphic wise on the PS3 or XBOX 360, but the iPhone game is just as good, I assure you.

Pros: Moves are perfect, Lara is a lot less blocky, and moves without as many bugs as in Underworld. A lot more weapons come into play, and there are shrines littered through out the game that will refill your ammo while you stand next to them. Bosses return, and are harder than ever, there is a brief fight against a T-Rex(big surprise, and it took me all most a half hour to beat him. A lot less med-packs are in this game, which makes the game a lot harder . Enemies are way harder than previous games, and if you don't hit the right button at the right time, you could find yourself flocked around and already killed within a matter of seconds. Very few bugs or glitches are in this game, and those that are in the game don't effect game play or kill you like in Underworld.

Cons: Bird's Eye View is okay, but if I ever got the PS3 version, I would like if it could be over the shoulders like the other games. Enemies being uber-hard is okay, but as I said, they can kill you quickly, so watch out. No outfits sadly, but the one Lara wears is mixed between her classic outfit, and the jungle shorts outfit in Underworld. Light blue tight shirt(redone from the classic outfit with the tang-top)Light brown shorts, and dark brown boots. No Zip, which is okay, but I think it would have been really cool if they could feature him somewhere, even if he was talking to Lara over a head set or something.

This game is amazing, and I am sure any Tomb Raider fan would enjoy it. Sadly, the game is up above 2 or 3 dollars now on the iPhone, but it still beats paying over ten dollars for the PS3.
