They Took the Chance and It Didn't Work
14 May 2012
The sequel to the 2011 Hallmark TV movie, TAKING A CHANCE ON LOVE fails to live up to its predecessor. In this one, Genie Francis has a baby left on her doorstep and realizes she wants a child of her own, even as the mother of the abandoned child regrets her decision and returns.

There were some complications, and that is very good for any drama. However, they were resolved so easily that there was no real sense of conflict. There was an incredibly annoying and banal music score that kept poking me in the chest throughout the entire show. In the end, the whole thing turned out to be a piece of idiot plotting, as the entire matter was cleared up by simply asking people what they want.

There was some good acting here, but the performances were swamped by a simply written script and production details -- like the music! -- that made me think that none of the people behind the camera cared. If they didn't, you shouldn't either.
