Review of Demons

Twin Peaks: Demons (1990)
Season 2, Episode 6
8/10
Guest starring David Lynch
18 May 2012
Warning: Spoilers
After the excitement at One Eyed Jacks in the previous episode Cooper and Truman return to Twin Peaks with Laura who is still affected by the large dose of heroin she'd been given. Her father says he is pleased to have her back but is unsettled when she says she knows what was going on north of the border... a clear reference to her father being the owner of One Eyed Jacks. Later on Cooper's senior; FBI Regional Bureau Chief Gordon Cole turns up and gives him a warning about his former partner Windom Earle. Elsewhere in Twin Peaks Leo Johnson has been released into the care of Shelley and Bobby who aren't impressed with the pitiful insurance money but throw a party anyway... mainly to mock Leo now that he is no longer a threat to anybody.

This episode may have less excitement than the previous one but it is still entertaining; the highlight of the episode being an appearance from series creator David Lynch as Cooper's boss; his character is rather deaf, mishearing everything said to him and talking very loudly, even when discussing private matters! Leo's 'party' was fairly surreal as he sat there with a kazoo in his mouth while Bobby and Shelly started to get intimate in front of him. Things got even more surreal at the end when the one armed man was brought into custody and Cooper got to talk to 'Mike', the man from his dream, again.
