A plenty of documentaries were released out after Arab spring. But unlike many of them, this film focuses on the fringe, Yemen.
It takes its viewer to the heart of Yemeni revolution. Instead of explaining every background detail or general things, it sees the revolution throughout an ordinary Yemeni man's eye. What does a revolution mean to a normal Khat-chewing man, to each individual? What kind of notion he/she has, and what made get him/her into the bloodbath as a protester? Where the vigour/verve comes from?
I had no idea what is going on their land before, and this film showed me vividly the situation without filtering or adding anything. The director took a huge risk to film this documentary, and as well as I am concerned, it was worth it - He deserves a standing ovation. I found this documentary absolutely well-made.
