Warning: Spoilers
Ripcord – 1961 A small plane carrying Edward Norris and his daughter, Mary Ann Durkin, becomes lost in thick clouds over the mountains. Before they crash, they manage to contact a US Air Force B-52 that was in the area on maneuvres. Also in the area are skydivers, Ken Curtis, Larry Pennell and their pilot, Shug Fisher. They offer to help if they can.

Edward and Durkin are both hurt but survive the crash. They contact the B-52 and ask for rescue. The mountain fog though is too thick to send in a chopper.

The B-52 radar operator, John Considine, gets a radar fix on the downed plane. If Curtis and Pennell are willing to jump into the clouds, Considine will use the bombing radar to guide them safely to the ground.

The twist here is that Curtis and Pennell know Considine. They had tossed him out of their dive school for ignoring safety rules. When they tossed him Considine had said he would get even. Can they trust him? They decide to give it a try. Considine gives them the exact position to jump from and then feeds them jump corrections by radio as the fall.

Both make it safely to the ground where they find the downed aircraft. They are able to help the injured father and daughter and save the day.

I loved this show as a kid and it still holds up imo. (b/w)
