Elegant simplicity

Warning: Spoilers
The film tells a simple story, but does so with a very refreshing perspective. It pictures a tragic event of a mother with a heart condition and slim chances of getting a donor, through the innocent perspective of a 3 year old child, whose views of love, hope, faith, and belief are entirely unadulterated. The child believes that he could be Superman, Spiderman, or Batman- if he chose to- and gives his mother a bunch of painted heart shaped cut-outs, with the belief that one of these hearts could be what she needs to get better. The innocence of the child's beliefs- at what is clearly a difficult time for the family- is contrasted very subtly with the burden carried by the father, who is shown to love and care for his child as he takes him to the hospital for a visit.

Overall, the film does a brilliant job of showcasing the love between father, mother, and child by contrasting hues of carefree childhood innocence with grownup responsibility.
