This story didn't exactly go where I expected it to go, but that's good! I was surprised.
Unfortunately, this story didn't end well. Just warning you beforehand. Lon Jessup was a respected citizen in Latigo (even thought this IS the first time we've ever seen him). Lon is suddenly arrested for robbery and attempted murder, but Clay is a good lawyer and is able to get him off. But only a few days later, Lon's wife rides into town and tells Clay that Lon lied in court when he promised to pay all the money back. She didn't want to have anything to do with Lon and was leaving him. Clay wanted to get to the bottom of things, naturally...
