The Inspector Lynley Mysteries: Word of God (2005)
Season 4, Episode 4
Word of God? I don't think so!

This story has a lot of reasons for people being killed.

A man is found dead in a refrigerated truck that has meat in it. He was strangled.

This episode contain many reasons for murder. There is transporting illegal immigrants from Jordan into the country. Some have died in transportation so there is a investigation on that. Then there are fake IDs.

A expensive Koran that has pages ripped out and sold for a lot of money. Then there is a doctor who operates on people that need transplants that over charges, then there is a man that sells his organs for money.

One of the men who is a Muslim has access to the Koran worth a lot of money but claims he did not know what it was.

It appears the Muslims in this episode did not read the Koran or they would have known the pages were from this book. The man that was in the meat truck was a Muslim and when he died according the story they believed in Sharia Law and the dead man's brother becomes his wife's husband. Yuk.

The story is interesting like in other episodes too many plots too many suspects. Running and chasing after suspects, fights and no gun. Too stupid. They have cell phones but no guns.

Lynley is suffering a lot of grief, the loss of his first child and separation from his wife. It affect his job and the way he reacts under stress.

Too me the Koran is not the Word of God it is the wrong title for this episode.
